Synopsis
This story is about a faerie princess named Opal who is in a situation where her family’s kingdom is about to crumble. The Blood Prince and his army are responsible for that as they attack their people. Opal’s parents decide that it’s best for her to marry the human prince, Bron, to protect her from The Blood Prince and to continue their family name.
Opal is not too happy about that but understands it’s expected of her. One night while being in her hideout, she runs into an enemy. He introduces himself as “Fang”, and even though she knows she should stay away from him, she doesn’t. They end up meeting often in their hideout until one day, she sees her father get murdered.
Her father’s death starts her journey from just being a princess following her parent’s wishes to creating her own destiny while falling in love with the last person she’d thought would be her mate.
My thoughts
I have not stopped thinking about this story since reading it. Opal’s world is not hard to understand and the author wastes no time getting to the plot. By chapter 4 things were going doowwn.
It is dual POV which is my favorite and the spicy scenes are great! The author builds up the sexual tension and clearly shows how both Opal and “Fang” are struggling to admit their feeling for each other since they’re enemies. And enemies to lovers is one of my favorite things!
Overall I felt that the story was complete, and the characters had some closure. The surprise with Opal’s mom near the end was an interesting twist, and of course who doesn’t like an epilogue? Well, this book has three! An epilogue, bonus epilogue, and a bonus scene. So, in my opinion, this book is definitely worth the read.
Snippet
“Want to know why I could never throw you in the dungeon like your prince?”
“No,” I breathed, but he knew that was a lie.
“Because your eyes, your heartbeat, and your body tell me the truth….you want me. You might loathe it, but you cannot reject me because it burns you alive to even consider it.”
