Are you looking for good slow burn romance books? Well, add this series to your never ending TBR list!
Synopsis
In this series, we are following a girl named Bryce who is half-fae and a resident of Crescent City! Humans, wolves, angels, fauns, and anything you can think of live there. She had a very social life where she would go to clubs with her three best friends, had a job being an assistant to a sorceress, and went on dates. Everything was fine until one night she went home from partying and witnessed the most soul-crushing thing that’s ever happened to her. She ends up in an interrogation room where the warrior angels are trying to figure out what happened.
The Archangel of the city asks her to be a part of the investigation along with the warrior angels since she was close with the victims. Little does she know this one tragedy is a small part of what’s really going on and it has her questioning everything. Meanwhile, she’s falling in love with an angel that is known for being dark and dangerous.
My thoughts
So this is the second series I’ve read from Sarah J. Maas. ACOTAR is my first, and I think this one is off to a great start.
There are several main characters like it’s not just about Bryce which is nice but dangerous at the same time. That means there are more people you’ll care about so you’ll need to be careful with your feelings! Guard your hearts haha.
It’s really slow burn but once things get going it’s so satisfying. Hunt has become one of my favorite love interests besides Cassian from ACOTAR. Their personalities are similar so if he’s your type you’ll love Hunt. I’ve also come to like Tharion and Ruhn in the second book. ♥️
The ending of the last book is exciting but scary. This could make or break the series but I feel like Sarah can pull it off. Can’t wait for the next books!
Snippet
“What sort of an afterward for you and me do you have in mind, Athalar?” He didn’t balk from her searching gaze.
“The good kind,” he said with equal quiet. She didn’t ask, though. About how it would be possible. How any of it would be possible for him, for them. What he’d do to make it so.
Her lips curved upward. “Sounds like a plan to me.”
