Looking for the best fantasy romance books? You’ve come to the right place, and this series is one you’ll want to check out, especially since book 3 came out!
Synopsis
This series is about a girl named Ayla who is half wolf and the daughter of the Alpha of the Cancer Pack. You’d think because of who she is that people would love her and treat her with respect. But it is the opposite, even for her father since she’s not a wolf through and through. An important event called the Convergence is about to happen, and this is when all the packs peacefully come together to witness people shift for the first time and potentially find their mates.
This is Ayla’s year to shift and she hopes to find a mate as well to leave her abusive family. Things seem to be going good so far since she was able to shift, but things take a turn for the worst when she finds her mate is the beta of their rival pack, the Leos. He rejects her, and a huge fight breaks out that causes her to be alone and wounded.
She passes out but when she wakes she finds that she’s been taken by the Alpha of the Ophiuchus pack. A pack that has been outcasted from the Zodiac Wolves. And this is when her story truly begins as she finds where she belongs and who she really wants to be with.
My thoughts
This series has been in my TBR for some time, I would find other books and skip over this one, but I’m not sure why. Maybe the cover didn’t stand out to me or the storyline, but I’m glad I gave it a chance haha. So far, this story is told from Ayla’s POV.
It’s a good story so far. The first book has some action but it mostly explains their world and how things work. Book 2 is packed with action from start to finish and the real plot unfolds even more. So it’s getting better and better!
Snippet
“All I want is someone to actually want me, is that too much to ask?” Somewhere I could belong, with people who cared for me. A place where I wouldn’t live in fear of hatred or the next beating I might get. A really hot mate wouldn’t have hurt either.
