If you’re into possessive mafia romance books then you will absolutely love Den of Vipers!
Synopsis
In this story, we’re following Roxanne. Her father owed a debt to the Vipers and didn’t have the money to pay, so instead, he sold out his daughter. Meanwhile, Roxanne has no connection to her father because of her abusive childhood and she runs a successful bar. So when a group of four intimidating men walk into the bar asking for her, she’s confused.
She fights them thinking they’re just thugs and calls the police. Later she discovers they are the Vipers, a mafia group that owns the whole town. The Vipers come back to collect their debt and are successful this time. Roxanne finds herself in a very luxurious apartment.
At first, she’s miserable but as time goes on she started relating to the Vipers and fears she may be more like them than she thought. At the same time, she’s falling for each of them. And the Vipers? They’re falling for her just as hard, and they don’t mind sharing. 😏
My thoughts
Oh my gosh, this book. It was so good. The end was a bit dragged out but overall I enjoyed the story so much that I had watery eyes at one point. It was interesting to see how the relationship dynamic works between the five of them, but I do have my favorites (Ryder & Garrett). We have the “leader” of the group, the golden retriever who is sweet but kind of crazy, the softy that likes to gamble, and the one with a traumatic past that caused him to hate women!
The plot is good, it can be predictable at times but to me that’s fine. It didn’t make the story boring and I could still feel the pressure and anxiety the characters go through in the climax. So as of right now if anyone were to ask me for a possessive mafia romance book, this would be the first I’d recommend!
Snippet
Trying the handle, I find it locked, of fucking course. I drop the lamp to my side and glare around at the room. These fuckers, they think they can own me? That I’m somone they can buy?
They’re going to learn that money can’t buy obedience. I’m no man’s object. They are going to regret the day they took me.
Vipers? Bitch, please, I bite too.
