If you’re looking for fantasy romance books with spice then the Savage Lands series is the perfect one for you!
Synopsis
In this story, we’re following several characters but mainly Brexley who lives on the human side of the country and the other side is where the fae live. She’s part of the Human Defense Force and has a best friend named Caden who is someone she grew up with.
She likes to raid trains that pass to the fae side so one night she goes with Caden to do their regular routine. Only this time things don’t go to plan. Brexley gets caught by the fae while Caden was able to get away.
Brexely’s taken to a prison that is impossible to escape from, but after being there for a few days she finds she caught the attention of a ruthless legend- Warwick Farkas. The prisoners say that being noticed by him is something to be afraid of. But this hauntingly beautiful man may be the key to her escape.
My thoughts
I was reading this series back to back. I was so invested that I could not let go of the books for anything. The plot is way more complex than what is explained in the synopsis but this is mainly about the first book.
The series is so adventurous and I feel there is a good balance of action and smut. I personally do not think any part of the story was boring and was not really bothered by the number of explosions that happened, like it’s Warwick’s thing.
I saw some reviews where people felt that everyone was horny all the time and weren’t really that into it, but I personally was fine with that. In this story, the fae are known for releasing their built-up magic that way because if not they get cranky. I also enjoyed seeing the characters being paired.
I hope we see more of Ash because it’s really sad what happened to him and he is a great person, but overall this is a series I would recommend for fantasy romance books with spice. 😊
Snippet
“It’s not hard to see you just invited the worst sort of trouble in. His attention on you is not good for you.”
Warwick.
“I didn’t really have a choice. He was kind of there. In my way.”
“He’s never done that. No one has ever drawn any bit of his notice. Not even the ones he kills.”
