Looking for a good young adult romance series?? This two book series is so amazing that you don’t miss the hot moments in adult romances.
Synopsis
In this series we are following a girl named Kazi who’s had a rough childhood. But as a young woman she ends up in the Rahtan and is sent on a secret mission with her two best friends who are also soldiers.
They’re looking for a specific man and believe that a royal family may be harboring him-the Ballingers. When they get to Hell’s Mouth, things don’t go to plan as Kazi and the new king get kidnapped. They work together to escape but on the journey back their hatred for each other starts to dwindle. Not only that, there are dangerous things in the works that could destroy the king’s city and hurt his family as well.
My thoughts
This story really is a whole journey like we go step by step with the main characters, and we know everything they’re thinking. So you do get attached to them because you feel like you’re there as they go through many, many hardships. Even though Kazi and Jase are young adults, they’re so mature for their age and I admire their devotion to each other as they going through tough times.
In the first book they encounter some challenges, but it is nothing compared to the second book like it’s more dark and there’s torture, and death. Reading vows of thieves was an emotional roller coaster, but it is a great series. I love me some hot romances, but this book focuses on the issues and how they work to overcome them. So I appreciated the short, sweet moments they have with each other, but it is closed door romance which makes this a good young adult series.
Snippet
I may have put one threat behind me, but now I was chained to another-in the middle of no where. There was no pretending that we were friends, and now I had no weapon.
Once I caught my breath, I asked, “What now?”
“Did you have something in mind?” he asked.
“I’m just saying, I know you don’t like me, and I don’t like you, but until we can be free of each other, I guess we’ll have to make the best of it.”
